San Martino di Castrozza

San Martino di Castrozza is a mountain resort, plunged in the the magnificient Primiero valley and framed by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites Pale di San Martino.

The result is a perfect mixture between a breathtaking panoramas and a cozy town that lies on the valley like a cherry on a whipped cream cake.

Some history

Originally, San Martino was a shelter for the wayfarer that were crossing the Rolle Pass heading from the Fiemme valley towards the Primiero valley or vice versa, where they could rest and get worm. Today only the church has remained from that original settlement, and it has become the center of the town.

Since the end of the 19th century, San Martino di Castrozza became a well-known resort for those who love mountains and nature, like the high society of the Austro-Hungarian empire that seemed to enjoy it.

Winter in San Martino di Castrozza

In winter, San Martino di Castrozza is covered with soft snow, creating a magical atmosphere. The lighted windows of downtown sloping roofs and the church of San Martino, with the typical pointed Romanesque bell tower, carry you in a fairytale world.

San Martino is equipped for all winter sports: skiing, snowboarding, alpine skiing, ice skating climbing, cross country skiing and much more, and does not fail to entertain you with events like the Craspada Dolomite, New Year's Eve in the snow, the Christmas markets or the Nativity in the village.

Summer in San Martino di Castrozza ​

San Martino in the summer is a flower meadow. With the melting of the snow the landscape is painted green and the mountains stand out even more. Tourists move around in walks and venture in the most extreme sports.
